Since the recent sale of the old Ambassador Hotel (and Edgewater House) located on South Ocean Boulevard to OKO’s Vlad Doronin—owner of the Aman—and Jonathan Goldstein of Cain International, rumors have been swirling about the possibility of an Aman Palm Beach resort and residences being developed there. But insiders say it’s more likely to be Aman’s sister brand, Janu Hotel, since an Aman Miami is already in the works.

Also owned by Doronin, Janu has “an emphasis on wellness and relaxation…offering a place for guests to find new energy and enrich the soul.” With three Janu Hotels currently under construction—in Japan, Montenegro and AIUla (Saudi Arabia)—and a plan for a total of eight to be opened in the first ten years, the brand’s serviced residence concept might be a perfect fit for Palm Beach. Alongside the Aman Miami, the location would be similar to that between the Aman Residences and Janu Hotel in Tokyo.

In August, Aman appointed Guy Heywood as COO of Janu. The new lifestyle brand is slated to launch in Tokyo in 2023.
