BREAKING NEWS…After a successful launch last year at the home of Amy & John Phelan that raised more than $5 million for global AIDS initiatives, amfAR is about to announce that it is returning to Palm Beach on Saturday, March 11th, 2023, at the oceanfront home of noted residents Michele & Howard Kessler. The star-studded cocktail reception and seated dinner, designed by Rafanelli Events, will feature a special performance by superstar Kelly Clarkson.
Last year, the sold out crowd of 350 guests included: Dee Ocleppo & Tommy Hilfiger, Andrea & Steve Wynn, Michael Lorber, T. Ryan Greenawalt, Howard Lorber, John Paulson & Alina De Almeida, Kelly Klein & Nick Manifold, Jennifer Flavin & Sylvester Stallone, Bridget & Bill Koch, Dana Blumberg & Bob Kraft. Sponsors included David Yurman and Aston Martin.
Palm Beach becomes the sixth city around the globe to be selected by the organization to host this blockbuster benefit, including Los Angeles, Dallas, Venice, Cannes, and New York.
Founded in 1985 by Elizabeth Taylor and Dr. Mathilde Krim, amfAR has raised more than $600 million in its programs and awarded grants to more than 3,500 research teams worldwide.
In 2011, The Jewelry Collection of Elizabeth Taylor -including important pieces by Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, Tiffany & Co. and Harry Winton given to her by Richard Burton, Michael Jackson, and Mike Todd, raised more than $115 million at Christie’s for amfAR all earmarked for the charity in keeping with the star’s wishes.
