If you haven’t heard, a 10-episode series about Palm Beach is set to stream on Apple TV+.

Based on the novel Mr. & Mrs. American Pie (Inkshares, 2018) by Juliet McDaniel, the period comedy, titled Mrs. American Pie, will explore societal questions such as: “Who gets a seat at the table? How do you get a seat at the table? And what will you sacrifice to get there?”

Lauren Dern is producing and co-starring in the series along with a star-studded line-up including: Kristen Wiig who will star as “Maxine Simmons” as she attempts to secure her place Palm Beach society and “cross that impermeable line between the haves and have-nots.” Oscar-winner Allison Janney will play Evelyn, a full-time resident and member of Palm Beach society; legendary comedienne Carol Burnett is slated to play Norma, ‘the grande dame of Palm Beach high society’ with a few secrets of own; supermodel Kaia Gerber is set to play Mitzi, a local manicurist; Mindy Cohn plays Ann, editor of the society column (Hello, Shannon Donnelly!). And Ricky Martin will star as the male lead, Robert. Rounding out this impressive list are Jason Canela, who plays Eddie — a tennis pro at a private Palm Beach club, and Jordan Bridges, who plays entrepreneur Perry Donahue.

The series is written, executive produced and showrun by Abe Sylvia. Tate Taylor, known for movies such as Breaking News In Yuba County and The Help, will direct. Laura Dern developed the project and will executive produce with Jaywalker Pictures’ partner, Jayme Lemons, along with John Norris of Wyolah Entertainment, and Katie O’Connell Marsh of Boat Rocker.

Filming on the series just wrapped, and while we’re still waiting on an official release date, you can expect the series to debut Fall 2023.
