A PALMER hit list of what’s new, now, and next from around the globe—from our obsessive-at-large, Wynn Burson Cateron.

It’s that time of year again—as the first Monday in May approaches and I’ve devoured the two biographies that have just come out (Alfons Kaiser’s detailed KARL LAGERFELD: A Life in Fashion and William Middleton’s illuminating PARADISE NOW: The Extraordinary Life of Karl Lagerfeld), I can’t wait to see Costume Institute curator-in-charge Andrew Bolton’s Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, which Bolton promises to be a conceptual look back at the prolific designer’s body of work; displaying, in an exhibition space designed by Tadao Ando, thematic through-lines, inspirations, and the singular methodology of Lagerfeld, the visionary multi-disciplinary creative who, during his lifetime, famously refused to look back himself…at The Met Fifth Avenue, May 5–July 16.
