Local coffee shop Chik Monk -formerly located in Haven, now in its own space near the Paramount on North County Rd, has launched their estate coffee in ten Whole Foods stores across Palm Beach County this season.

Directly sourced specialty coffee from the family farms of Balekola and Balupet Estates (http://www.balupetestate.com/), the history of the farms dates back four generations in the tranquil Western Ghat mountain range of Chikmagalur, India.

Coffee plants from the East with Balekola and Balupet Estates are protected by a lush canopy of trees including Cardamom, pepper vines and fruit trees which live among the coffee plants imparting soft hints of spice and citrus to its distinct flavor.

It takes four seasons, mists of the monsoons and dedication from the local community to meticulously hand pick and then naturally dry the beans on bricks in the soft winter sun. The dried beans are then sorted, graded for quality and then bagged. Chik Monk then sources the coffee directly from the farm.

Chin Monk sources the highest quality coffee directly from family estates. They source from farms that harvest specialty coffee, that are committed to sustaining the wildlife, the environment and caring for the local coffee communities.

Apart from sourcing from high quality sustainable farms, Chik Monk donates a portion of its profit to enhance the well-being of the local community by providing housing, healthcare, access to clean drinking water and schooling aid for the younger children.
