Palm Beach resident Lisa Perry kicked off the summer season at her East Hampton Onna House, an appointment-only gallery in a mid-century modern home which supports women artists from around the globe.
The group show, Pearls, Pills & Protest, which is on view through the end of June, combines traditionally feminine crafts—like tapestry, embroidery, quilting, and beading—with powerful feminist messaging, and features works by Michele Pred, Kelly Tapìa-Chuning, Lulu Varona, and Jerelyn Hanrahan. Perry has also spent the past two decades advocating for women’s rights, championing organizations like NARAL and Planned Parenthood.
Word is that the designer and curator has recently purchased additional property in Palm Beach, with plans to convert the home into another gallery. Perry’s daughter, Samantha David, is also behind the recent renovation of The Royal Poinciana Plaza.
