The Norton Museum of Art is getting a fresh face. The museum has just appointed Dr. Regina Palm as the Harold and Anne Berkley Smith Senior Curator of Modern Art. In her new role, she will be responsible for the American and European Modern Art Collections from roughly 1850 to 1960. Among her duties include devising exhibits on the art and artists of the late-19th and 20th centuries. She will also work with the Modern Acquisition Council to lead the Norton’s acquisition strategy for Modern art.
Dr. Palm was most recently at the San Antonio Museum of Art. She has also held positions at the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, the San Diego Museum of Art, the Kimbell Art Museum, the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, and the Cincinnati Art Museum.
“I am delighted to be joining such an incredible team whose dedication to serving their community is palpable,” she said in a statement. “Since its inception, the Norton has set itself apart by endeavoring to collect exemplary works of Modern American and European art. It is my great privilege to become part of this legacy and shepherd the collection for the next generation.”
Dr. Palm officially joins the team September 30, 2024.
