The 2024 Paris Olympics kick off this Friday. While you’ll no doubt be rooting for all of Team USA, there are a handful of hometown heroes to cheer on as well.

 

Coco Gauff

Age: 20
Sport: Tennis
This Delray Beach native is already a celebrity and rising star in the world of tennis, but this will be her first time at the Olympics. It was also announced that she will be Team USA’s flag bearer at the opening ceremony—the first tennis player and youngest person to ever do so.

Kent Farrington

Age: 43
Sport: Equestrian
Farrington, who hails from Wellington, won the silver medal at the 2020 Olympic games in Tokyo.

 

Markus Edegran

Age: 30
Sport: Sailing
This West Palm Beacher is currently ranked #4 in the world in sailing.

Laura Kraut

Age: 58
Sport: Equestrian
Kraut, who is from Wellington, has previously competed in the 2000, 2008, and 2020 Olympics, and has already won both a gold and silver medal.

 

Adrienne Lyle

Age: 39
Sport: Equestrian
Another equestrian from Wellington, Lyle has also competed in the 2012 Olympic games in London, and won a silver medal at the 2020 games.
