The Hamptons have a long history as a hub for artists. But few events allow guests to immerse themselves in an artist’s vision the way the Watermill Center’s annual benefit does.
This year’s event, which was presented by Van Cleef & Arpels, honored the dancer and choreographer Lucinda Childs. Attendees—including Peter Marino, Jamee and Peter Gregory, Audrey Gruss, and Stefano Tonchi, PALMER’S Editorial Director—were invited to explore installations and performances across the Center’s expansive property.
During dinner, the Center held its annual auction, which included artwork from the likes of Robert Wilson, Vija Celmins, Roni Horn, Jacqueline Humphries, Shirin Neshat, Robert Longo, and Kikuo Saito. Proceeds went to supporting the Center’s Artist-in-Residence program, which provides artists from around the globe with resources.
