Things kicked off with a party hosted by Bottega Veneta (a supporting partners) on the museum’s rooftop with music by DJ Cardamami. As the week went on, attendees were invited to catch Allison Katz—whose exhibit, In the House of the Trembling Eye, is on view at the museum now—in conversation wtih James Meyer, or Shigeru Ban in conversation with Hans Ulrich Obrist; listen to a solo piano performance by Jason Moran; and even catch a performance of AUDIENCE PLANT 2024, a concert atop Aspen mountain by Ryan Trecartin and his collaborators.

Meanwhile, the Hotel Jerome also got in on the action, hosting its own Aspen Art Fair. Created by Becca Hoffman, the fair featured 20 exhibitors from 12 countries, showcasing the work of nearly 90 artists. The week—which kicked off with its an opening reception on Monday—was also filled with cocktail parties, panel discussions, and of course, hiking.

Everything concluded on Friday night, with the Aspen ArtCrush Gala, which raised a record-breaking $4.5 million.
Those who weren’t able to make it to Colorado for ArtWeek needn’t fret—In the House of the Trembling Eye is still on view until the end of September. The show is a group exhibition staged by Katz in collaboration with the Archaeological Park of Pompeii. Featuring over 100 artworks and objects by over 50 artists alongside fragments and frescoes from Pompeii (many of which have never previously traveled to the United States.)
