The press is abuzz with talk of Snowbirds, the Palm Beach-based reality show. But there’s reason to believe it might more aptly be called “much ado about nothing.”
The pilot, which has not yet been sold to a network, reportedly first began filming in West Palm Beach this past weekend, and in true reality TV fashion there is already no lack of drama. Among those reportedly cast is Palm Beacher Sharon Bush, but she strongly denies it. And the biggest hurdle to getting this bird off the ground is that the town of Palm Beach doesn’t allow ongoing filming in public areas. Meaning they would need to find another home before the production even begins.
Despite the infighting and drama over casting, if producers can ultimately pull it off, the show might just be a bonafide hit. “It’s shocking what’s going on behind closed doors,” says one observer. And while many have voiced their disdain for the project, there are dozens more aggressively lobbying for the few remaining cast openings. “It’s shameless,” says one disgusted spy about the jockeying, while others can’t wait to watch it.
