Thoughtful conversation abounded on Sunday night before an intimate audience invited by Carol and Earle Mack when Once Upon a Time in Ukraine was screened at the Southampton Arts Center. The short documentary—which was produced by Ambassador Earle Mack and directed by Betsy West—emotionally depicts the ongoing war in the country through the experiences of four children. The film was immediately followed by a discussion between Chairman of the Council on Foreign Relations, David Rubenstein, and Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Judith Miller on the current state of the war. The evening concluded with a seated dinner at Le Charlot.

The engaged crowd included Jane Holzer, Hilary and Wilbur Ross, Bronson van Wyck, Gayfryd Steinberg and Michael Shnayerson, Caryn Zucker, Peggy Siegal, former Governor George Pataki, Annette Tapert Allen, Alex Hitz, Wendy Stark, Gigi and Avie Mortimer, John Paulson and Alina de Almeida, and Jo Carole Lauder, among others.
