With NYFW in full swing, PALMER sat down with West Palm Beach resident Jordan Kanegis about her new model agency in NYC, and her plans to open a Palm Beach office.

What inspired you to open a model agency?
My inspiration for opening The Killer Agency came from a desire to challenge and redefine the traditional modeling industry standards. I wanted to create a space that celebrates diversity, individuality, and creativity. At Killer, we focus not just on outer beauty, but on unique stories and personalities that each model brings to the table. I was driven by the idea of empowering models to be more than just faces on a runway or in a campaign—they are creators, artists, and storytellers in their own right and we are here to help them “kill it” in all that they do.

Are you a model?
I have been modeling and creating content for over five years, so I understand both sides of the industry—the challenges and pressures that models face, as well as the creative and business aspects behind the scenes. My experience has given me a well-rounded perspective, which I now bring to Killer to create a supportive and empowering environment for all our killer talent!

How busy have you been during your first NYFW?
I don’t even know what day it is.

What designers have you worked with this season?
Tom Ford, Oscar de la Renta, Alexander Wang, Buci, Leslie Amon—to name a few!

When did West Palm Beach become home?
I moved to Palm Beach, like many New Yorkers, after COVID. I pay less for a two-bedroom house than I did for my one-bedroom apartment in NYC. I am in the sun every day, and I no longer have to endure those depressing winter months after the beautiful white snow turns to a concerning colored slush.

The NYC-LA lifestyle is called “bi-coastal.” What do you call the NYC-WPB  lifestyle?
I call this the “Best of Both” lifestyle because you truly experience the best of two worlds that couldn’t be more different. NYC is the city that never sleeps where I’m constantly hustling, and don’t go out until 10pm; while Palm Beach is where I unwind and I’m usually asleep by 10pm!

What makes it “Best of Both”?
What I love most about dividing my time between NYC and WPB is the perfect balance between energy and relaxation. New York City is fast-paced, vibrant, and brimming with opportunities— it’s the perfect place to network and make connections. Palm Beach, on the other hand, offers a strong sense of community and a connection to nature. It’s a place where my creativity thrives. I love that I can quickly hop in my car for errands or take a spontaneous break at the beach.

When is The Killer Agency opening its PB office?
We’re aiming to open our West Palm Beach office next season. The space is currently under construction—it’s an old warehouse being transformed into stunning office space with 22-foot ceilings and exposed wood beams.

Have you spotted any runway trends that could work in PB?
Airy knit fabrics, boho vibes, vintage-inspired designs, and midi skirts.

What are your favorite things to do in PB?
Antiquing, hitting Showpony for vintage furniture finds, a day at the beach, hanging with friends, playing tennis, and going to the gym.
