An ongoing list of some of our favorite people.

Hector Rubio
As director of resort events and programming at the popular Mizner-designed and Thierry Despont-renovated Boca Raton Resort and Club, West Palm Beach resident Hector Rubio curates a roster of diverse events for the club’s members. He leads a team to organize upwards of 170 events each month, including everything from boat and car shows, wine festivals, important talks with experts, to major events like his Mardi Gras party, fireworks on the Fourth of July, and performances by the Palm Beach Philharmonic. And let’s not forget his memorable New Year’s Eve party, which last year had an extravagant James Bond theme.

Liza Pulitzer
If Palm Beach had a royal family, it would arguably be the Pulitzers. And these days, many would name Liza as the most prominent and beloved face of the multi-generational dynasty. As a successful real estate broker she is part of a short list of elite peers who continually find themselves on either—and sometimes both—sides of the most notable transactions in town. This year, she also designed a capsule collection, with sister Minnie, to honor the 65th anniversary of their mother Lilly’s iconic fashion brand. Additionally, she’s a fierce golfer, and (with her husband Bob Calhoun) does some of the best entertaining in town. It also doesn’t hurt that her knowledge of Palm Beach is just about encyclopedic.

Tim Malloy
If there was an award for multitasking in Palm Beach, it would undoubtedly go to this journalist, former TV news anchor, war correspondent, 14-time Emmy Award winner, and PALMER contributing editor. At this very moment, Malloy is also promoting a new book he collaborated on with James Patterson and Matt Eversmann, titled American Heroes. The tome celebrates real life war heroes, a subject about which he is passionate. And let’s not forget his day job as the polling analyst for the very well respected and often quoted Quinnipiac Poll, which 30 days out from a Presidential election, is busier and more relevant than ever.  How does he do it? Some credit his success to a rigorous daily swim in an Olympic sized-pool,which he squeezes in each morning before most of the world has even risen. He and his popular wife, Susan Bodnar, also happen to be a force to be reckoned with in and around town.
