In the wake of two devastating hurricanes, the Town of Palm Beach United Way has jumped into action—as have the town’s residents.

Today, the organization announced that a group of Palm Beachers has pledged to match $100,000 of donations towards Hurricane Recovery Fund. This is in addition to a previous matching gifts from the Cathleen McFarlane Foundation, Inc. of $50,000, and a separate anonymous donor.

“Our Hurricane Recovery Fund initiated following landfall of Hurricane Helene on September 26,”  Aleese Kopf, Director of Communications at the Town of Palm Beach United Way, told PALMER. “With the help of two matching gifts—one anonymous and one from the Cathleen McFarlane Foundation—we quickly raised and evenly distributed $150,000 to Americares, Global Empowerment Mission, and World Central Kitchen. Following the formation of Hurricane Milton, the fund adapted to also support the impact of this devastating storm. The same three agencies listed above are also assisting with relief efforts for Hurricane Milton. Currently, we are evaluating agencies that are assisting with local tornado victims.”

Every donation to the Hurricane Recovery Fund will be matched dollar-for-dollar. Click here for more information and to donate.
