The The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals brought some mid-afternoon glamor to midtown Manhattan last week. On Thursday, the ASPCA hosted its annual Humane Awards Luncheon at the Plaza Hotel. The event celebrated animals, advocates, and organizations aligned with their mission.

Palm Beachers in attendance included Arriana and Dixon Boardman, Emilia and Pepe Fanjul, Karen LeFrak, Donna Acquavella, Kathy Prounis, Pfeiffle Granville, Caroline Hirsch, and Peggy Siegal. Meanwhile, Carolina Herrera, Peggy Drexler, Serena Boardman, and Daisy Prince were among the other notable guests.

The afternoon featured lunch, as well as speeches on behalf of this year’s honorees, which included Grammy-winner Emmylou Harris, Emmy Award-winner Steven Latham, and the New York City Police Department, as well as the Dog and Cat of the Year.

“The ASPCA’s unwavering dedication to protecting animals, especially during recent hurricanes, demonstrates just how vital their work is in times of crisis,” said board member Arriana Boardman. “This year’s Humane Awards Luncheon honorees exemplify the compassion and courage needed to safeguard animals, and we’re honored to celebrate their contributions in 2024.”
