West Palm Beach is ringing in a new season of culture and socializing. Recently, The Norton Museum of Art hosted a VIP opening reception for its new exhibit, Strike Fast, Dance Lightly: Artists on Boxing (which is explored in PALMER’s upcoming new edition).
Among the nearly 150 guests were Martin and Audrey Gruss, Ghislain d’Humières, Tom and Bonnie Strauss, Eric Fischl, Nikki Harris, Sophocles Zoullas, and Bruce and Lori Gendelman, among others. Artists Jared McGriff, Cheryl Pope, Lonnie Holley, Rose Marie Cromwell, and Marcel Hüppauff—who all have work in the show—were also in attendance.
The evening featured a dramatic presentation of Gabriele Tinti’s “The Boxer, Part I” by actor Jovon Jacobs. Guests were able to tour the galleries, and ended the night with a private dinner on the Colonnade, overlooking the Pamela and Robert B. Goergen Garden.
