Slim Aarons built a career photographing the glitz and glam of mid-century high society, especially in Palm Beach. It’s fitting, then, that the opening of Slim Aarons: Gold Coast at the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens in West Palm should start with a bang. Over the weekend, the museum hosted a chic soirée with 350 guests, sponsored by PALMER and Lilly Pulitzer.
Among the attendees were Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens’ Executive Director Margaret Horgan, Slim’s daughter Mary Aarons, Lilly’s daughter Liza Pulitzer, and philanthropists Frances and Jeffrey Fisher and Audrey and Martin Gruss.

The weekend kicked-off with dinner in the Gardens’ exotic orchid house, followed by a fashion show. There was also a panel discussion with Slim Aarons Curator Shawn Waldron, Mary Aarons and family friend George Ledes, moderated by PALMER’s Christine Schott. Guests—including Hannah Selleck, Mish Tworkowski, Sara and Jim McCann, Leonard Lauren, Lauren Layne and George Merck, Danielle Rollins and Tom D’Agostino, Jr., Eddie Ross, Katherine Lande and Kevin Condon, Molly and Nick Mele, Rick Rose, Jayne Chase, Tom Shaffer, Whitney Schott, Jack Lynch, Heather Van De Mije, Kate Kenny, Laura Anthony, and Colleen, Casey and Kathie Orrico—were given a sneak peak of the exhibition.
