An ongoing list of some of our favorite people.

Gigi Benson
The saying goes that behind every great man is an even greater woman, and that is certainly true of Harry and Gigi Benson. While Harry is world-renowned for his photography, it’s safe to say he owes much to his wife and creative partner. The legendary lensman has captured enough iconic images to fill several books — and it’s Gigi who has edited some of his most important tomes. These days, the couple resides in Wellington, where they are an active and beloved part of the Palm Beach community.

Bob Merrill
Merrill’s reputation — and his voice — precedes him. A popular bandleader and recording artist, he hosts two shows on Palm Beach’s Legends Radio 100.3 FM: “Legends After Dark,” which airs weeknights, and “Sunday Legends Brunch,” an interview series. And active member or the community, he also serves on the boards of The Society for the Preservation of the Great American Songbook and the Palm Beach Civic Association. Giving back and volunteering runs in his family: among his boardmates for both associations is his extraordinary mother, Hillie Mahoney, a legendary hostess and philanthropist herself.

David Crohan
A beloved town fixture, Crohan has been the in-house pianist at Cafe L’Europe for the past 20 years. The New England native moved to Palm Beach in the early 2000s, and has been a community staple ever since. In addition to his restaurant gig, he would volunteer at Cleveland Clinic in West Palm Beach, playing piano in the waiting room. Crohan recently retired from his in-house position. It’s hard to imagine Palm Beach without his twinkling soundtrack, but we’re thankful for the memories!
