Apparently, good things come in multiples of four. Over the weekend, amfAR held its fourth-annual Palm Beach Gala — and it just happens to be the 40th anniversary of the organization’s founding by Dr. Mathilde Krim and Dame Elizabeth Taylor.
Hosted by Coco Rocha, and chaired by Ken Griffin, Lisa and James Cohen, T. Ryan Greenawalt and Joey Licitra, Dee and Tommy Hilfiger, Michele and Howard Kessler, Dr. Dana and Robert Kraft, Caroline and Omeed Malik, Kevin McClatchy and Jack Basilone, and Amy and John Phelan, the night raised $3.8 million in support of amfAR’s lifesaving biomedical research programs.
The black-tie gala — designed by Bronson van Wyck — featured performances by Ricky Martin and Pia Toscano, a live auction, and speeches from honorees Andrea and Steve Wynn and Martha Stewart.
Attendees included Julia Koch, Jane Holzer, Cornelia Guest, John Paulson, Suzanne and Woody Johnson, Fernando Wong, Eleanor Acquavella and Morgan Dejoux, Andrew and Sarah Wetenhall, Nick Hissom, Alex Hissom, and Bob Mackie, among others.
Also on hand were Kevin Robert Frost, amfAR’s longtime CEO who will be retiring at the end of the year, and his successor, Kyle Clifford. Clifford, currently the organization’s Chief Development Officer, has been on the management team since 2020, and will officially take the reigns in 2026.
