On April 11 and 12, world esteemed jeweler Buccellati will be hosting a pop-up at The Colony Hotel, bringing jewelry with Renaissance-era craftsmanship and modern design sensibilities to Palm Beach.

Among the pieces on display will be three radically different jewelry collections, showing the range of the house’s creative and technical abilities.

One of the most lasting designs is the Tulle line of the Icona Collection. Created by Mario Buccellati, the founder of the house, these pieces take inspiration from lace, comprised of floral details and pentagonal cells resembling beehives. Over the years, the collection has been re-interpreted by different generations of the Buccellati family. Gianmaria, Mario’s son, took a lighter, more geometric approach, and conceiving the “radial tulle” design (where linear elements originate from the same focal point). Recently, his son, Andrea Buccellati, crafted a radial tulle design inspired by the dome of Florence.

The Macri collection (pictured at top), which Gianmaria Buccellati created 40 years ago in honor of his daughter, Maria Cristina, could not be more different. Focusing on engraving techniques, these pieces are a more streamlined take on Buccellati’s oeuvre.

Meanwhile, the Hawaii Collection (which includes the Hawaii Diamonds and Hawaii Color lines), is the best of both words—layering simple gold rings to create intricate motifs. Despite being introduced in the 1930s (the pieces were inspired by the Futurism movement), the designs are so modern they still seem contemporary today. In 2017 new materials like chalcedony, cornelian, and onyx were introduced to add a modern color palate.

Representing her family in Palm Beach will be Lucrezia Buccellati, who will be in attendance April 11 from 12PM to 3:30PM.
