On Sunday, La Dolfina-Tamera (Alejandro Poma, Matt Coppola, Diego Cavanagh, Adolfo Cambiaso) captured the 2025 U.S. Open Polo Championship with a commanding 12-8 victory over La Dolfina/Catamount (Scott Devon, Rufino Merlos, Poroto Cambiaso, Jesse Bray) at the National Polo Center in Wellington. Played in front of a sold-out crowd on U.S. Polo Association Field One, the spotlight was once again on the legendary father-son duo of Adolfo and Poroto Cambiaso as 50-year-old Adolfo led his team to avenge a loss to his son in a high-stakes rematch of last year’s final. Riding the momentum of an undefeated run and the 2025 C.V. Whitney Cup title, La Dolfina/Tamera’s Alejandro Poma’s clutched a goal before halftime tying the score 6-all, and setting the tone for an exciting second half that secured the championship and marked Adolfo’s tenth U.S. Open victory.
