New Yorkers were overjoyed when Sarah and Andrew Wetenhall announced Swifty’s –the beloved Manhattan boîte that closed in 2016– would have a new permanent home at The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach. Now, excitement is building again as the Wetenhall’s new hotel, The Hedges Inn, has opened in East Hampton — complete with a Swifty’s of its own.
“After Mortimer’s closed, we had a wonderful, long-standing following who wanted their club to continue, says Swifty’s Robert Caravaggi. “With Swifty’s, we created our own mystique and style that has been enhanced through my partnership with the Wetenhalls.”
An intimate opening party for the restaurant took place. A number of Palm Beachers who summer in the Hamptons were in attendance, including Aerin Lauder, Joey Wolffer and Max Rohn, Bobbi Brown, and Gabby and Gianpaolo de Felice. Guests sampled the restaurant’s menu, while getting a first look at the cozy interior. Swifty’s is accepting reservations now.
