Earlier this year, PALMER and CHANEL hosted a special screening of Jean Cocteau, a new documentary film about the life and work of the multi-hyphenate avant-garde artist, by filmmaker Lisa Immordino Vreeland. Hosted at the Norton Museum of Art in Palm Beach, the event was a widely attended celebration of Jean Cocteau’s tumultuous life and enduring legacy.
CHANEL’s longstanding support of cinema and film was on display this week again, as they partnered with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to host their annual Academy Women’s Luncheon at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles. The event brought together prominent women from across the film industry, including Kristen Stewart, Riley Keough, Embeth Davidtz, Pam Abdy, Emma Mackey, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Kate Hudson, and many more. With opening remarks from Academy President Lynette Howell Taylor, the luncheon honored this year’s Gold Fellowship for Women recipients, Alina Simone and Marlén Viñayo. The fellowship is part of the Academy’s global talent development initiative, offering one year of mentorship, financial support, and access to industry leaders to help emerging female filmmakers advance their creative work.
And then there were the clothes. While Palm Beach’s weather may call for fewer layers, the looks provided plenty of inspiration for the season ahead, as well as a glimpse of what’s to come for Matthieu Blazy’s CHANEL following his triumphant first show for the house.
