For decades, Fort Lauderdale has been synonymous with life on the water. The city hosts the world’s largest in-water boat show, draws megayachts from every corner of the globe, and has long served as the engine of Florida’s maritime economy. Now, a new development is redefining what waterfront living can look like in a city already rooted in salt air and superyacht culture.
Related Group, Tate Capital, and Rok Acquisitions, in partnership with Marriott International, have unveiled The St. Regis Resort & Residences, Bahia Mar, Fort Lauderdale, a visionary development that will completely reimagine the 40-acre Bahia Mar site. Underway now, the $2 billion project will introduce two 23-story residential towers, a 24-story flagship St. Regis hotel, a beach club, curated dining and retail, and a 250-slip marina capable of welcoming vessels up to 350 feet. It’s a transformation that signals a broader shift for the city. Indeed, the goal is not to simply upgrade Bahia Mar, but to make Fort Lauderdale a destination in itself.

“Fort Lauderdale has long been defined by its connection to the water, and that identity continues to evolve in extraordinary ways,” said Nick Pérez, President of Condominium Development at Related Group. “With The St. Regis Resort & Residences, Bahia Mar, Fort Lauderdale, we’re creating a once-in-a-generation landmark that reflects the city’s transformation into a world-class luxury destination – setting an entirely new standard for sophisticated waterfront living.”
The residences, designed by Arquitectonica with interiors by Tara Bernerd & Partners, range from spacious three- and four-bedroom homes starting at $5 million to penthouses priced from $20 million, some with private rooftop pools. They will be equipped with private elevator foyers, expansive wraparound terraces, Sub-Zero and Wolf kitchens, and spa-style baths. Owners also have access to more than 60,000 square feet of amenities, including a private pool deck, spa, indoor-outdoor fitness center, pickleball court, media lounge, children’s playroom, bar and dining rooms, and a curated art collection.

Beyond its residential and hospitality components, the project carries cultural weight. Bahia Mar is the beating heart of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, and anchoring it with a world-class luxury development signals a shift in how the city sees its long-term future.
The marina, already famous for accommodating vessels up to 350 feet, will be further elevated by new amenities in line with the St. Regis experience. Dining, shopping, and an expanded promenade will create a pedestrian-friendly waterfront designed not only for residents, but for the broader community and boating culture that defines the region.

The development arrives at a moment when Fort Lauderdale is experiencing a rapid transformation, as the city carves out its own luxury identity. With The St. Regis Resort & Residences, Bahia Mar, the message is clear: Fort Lauderdale is no longer satisfied with being just a destination for megayachts; it wants to become a destination for the people who own them, too.
