On December 2, supporters gathered inside and out at Tom and Caroline Dean’s magical home to toast the Cox Science Center and Aquarium‘s upcoming Smarty Party: Science of Sleep, set for January 15, 2026.

The evening also recognized the event’s 2026 chairwomen, Amanda Cummings, Victoria Hagan, Deborah Norville, and Laing Rogers, alongside honorary chairs Kenneth C. Griffin, Julia Koch, and Judy and the late Leonard Lauder. Guests shared their enthusiasm for keynote speaker Dr. Michael Young, the 2017 Nobel Prize winner in Medicine, who will explore the science of circadian rhythms, examining how our internal clocks affect everything from jet lag and seasonal depression to Alzheimer’s disease, medication timing, and longevity.
