It was a busy night of reverie on the island. Parties, large and small, were held all over town, each drawing both new and familiar faces.
At Whitehall, the Flagler Museum marked the arrival of 2026 alongside the centennial of the illustrious estate, built by Henry Flagler, returning it to its original role as a social hub, with champagne, live music, and a fireworks display over the Intracoastal ushering in the new year.
Then there was the Coconuts. For decades, its New Year’s Eve party has been a fixture of the island’s calendar, with roots that stretch back to the early 1920s, when it began as a private gathering long before it became an annual tradition. This year the celebration took place once again at the Colony Hotel where dinner, dancing, and the familiar countdown carried the night into the new year.
