It is a known fact that not all sheets are created equal. The truly great ones make it difficult to leave your bed. If you’ve ever woken up wrapped in Pratesi bedding, you know what I’m talking about.

Founded in Florence in 1906 by Remigio Pratesi, the house has spent more than a century perfecting its timeless pieces, using the finest materials, with linens woven in Italy and finished and embroidered with a level of precision that borders on obsessive. Long-staple Egyptian cotton, intricate jacquard weaving, and hand-guided embroidery have become signatures of the storied brand.

Pratesi pieces have long dressed the homes of the most exacting tastemakers, which of course means they are a fixture in residences across Palm Beach. It is a relationship that has developed over decades, built on shared appreciation for craft and continuity. Earlier this month, that relationship deepened. Pratesi unveiled the 1,400-square-foot expansion of its flagship at 400 Hibiscus Avenue, more than doubling the original footprint and transforming the boutique into a fully realized expression of the house’s universe.

“The expansion of our Palm Beach flagship represents an exciting new chapter for Pratesi and a meaningful investment in a community that has long embraced our brand,” says Michelle Klein, CEO of Pratesi. “Palm Beach holds a special place in our story, and this new space allows us to showcase our craftsmanship, heritage, and commitment to exceptional service in an even more thoughtful way. We are delighted to deepen our roots here and welcome clients into a flagship that truly reflects the spirit of Pratesi.”

Designed by Monteleone & Associates, the new addition extends the existing environment with Italian hand-rubbed teak, aniline-dyed leather, mirror-polished copper, and clear water white glass. Underfoot, coralina limestone, composed of fossilized coral and shell fragments, grounds the space in material that speaks directly to Palm Beach’s geological composition. Tuscan heritage translated into coastal light.

At the center, a custom dining table formed from travertino discs and bleached teak anchors the room, introducing Pratesi’s expanded focus on table linens, decorative objects, and a made-to-order capsule furniture collection crafted from French oak. Sculptural beds, armchairs, benches, and nightstands are built with proportion and permanence in mind, upholstered in finely woven Italian fabrics.

Palm Beach has long embraced Pratesi’s devotion to craft. The expansion of its flagship carries the house’s commitment to proportion, material, and permanence into architectural form. It honors its Florentine origins while belonging fully to its island home. A true labor of love.
