Miami Open week officially got underway on Monday, March 16, at The Shelborne Hotel, where IMG Tennis and Lalo Tequila hosted a welcome party that set the tone for the days ahead.
Held on the hotel’s second-floor terrace, the evening brought together a mix of players, models, and familiar faces from across sport and culture. Among them were hosts Amanda Anisimova and Zizou Bergs, alongside Anesia Gordon, Deja Lighty, Jeannie Pfeiffer, Andrea Preti, and a growing circle of tennis insiders including Madison Appel, Dale Moss, Livy Rothfeld, and Ben Johnson of Tennis101.
The energy built quickly. Lalo Tequila cocktails circulated throughout the evening, conversations moved easily from one group to the next, and the kind of early-week anticipation that defines Miami Open week began to settle in. It was, quite simply, where things began.
Behind the bar, the menu reflected the players themselves. Anisimova’s passionfruit margarita quickly became a favorite. “My go-to drink is a passionfruit margarita, and LALO tequila is an essential, of course,” she said. “You just can’t beat it.” Bergs opted for a LALO Espresso Martini, describing it as “simple, smooth, and perfect after dinner.”
If the night was any indication, the week ahead promises plenty to watch — both on and off the court.
