If you are planning to be in New York City any time from Thursday, April 9 to Saturday, April 11, this is something to have on your radar.
Icons of Italy brings together more than 50 Italian brands across over 40 locations in Manhattan for a three-day program focused on craftsmanship, design, and the ideas behind some of Italy’s most recognizable creations. Participating names include B&B Italia, Bellavista, Benetti Yachts, Bottega Veneta, Campari, Ferrari, Ferrari Trento, Ferragamo, Gucci, Isaia Napoli, Kiton, Max Mara, Molteni & C, Prada, Tod’s, Versace and Zegna, among others.
Over three days, the program takes you across Manhattan while also tracing a broader journey through Italy, showing how local materials and regional identities translate into internationally acclaimed designs. The events will unfold across flagship stores and showrooms, each offering a different entry point into Italian creativity today. New York is a natural setting, with the United States having long been one of the most important audiences for Italian creativity, and American collectors, designers, and institutions playing a key role in shaping its global reach.
You will find master artisans demonstrating techniques developed over decades; workshops that break down how fabrics are made or how jewelry is constructed; archive presentations showing original sketches, materials, and early designs. There will also be wine tastings, food presentations, and conversations with designers, all tied to specific regions and traditions. You can find out more about the full program here.
The initiative is curated by Altagamma, which represents many of Italy’s leading companies across fashion, design, automotive, jewelry, food, and hospitality, with support from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Trade Agency.
The event takes place just ahead of Italy’s National Made in Italy Day on April 15, marking the birth of Leonardo da Vinci, and reinforcing the broader idea behind the project: Italian creativity as a combination of craft, innovation, and cultural identity.
More than anything, Icons of Italy is a rare opportunity to see the work up close and go behind the scenes of Italian craftsmanship: how things are made, where they come from, and why they matter.
