Happy Tails, Even Happier Humans

Could there be any better party than one where you get to cuddle adorably cute dogs and help them get a new home? Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League once again found a way to end the season on a high note, with its annual Happy Tails spring fundraiser in West Palm Beach.

Held on April 15 at The Park, the evening was a sweet mix of genuine fun and genuine meaningfulness. The guests of honor were impossible to miss: 15 adoptable puppies and dogs weaving their way through the crowd, wagging their tails, waiting to be held, happily accepting attention from guests.

Co-chaired by Mish Tworkowski and Hillary Thomas, alongside Junior Co-Chairs Payton Matthews and Ande Murray, the event brought together 175 supporters and raised more than $530,000 to benefit dogs and cats in need across Palm Beach County. Major sponsors included Anne and Christopher Flowers, Vicky and Sam Hunt, and Pauline Pitt and The William H. Pitt Foundation.

“It was a joy to gather so many compassionate friends and supporters for an evening that was both festive and deeply meaningful,” said Tworkowski. “With the puppies and dogs as part of the celebration, guests were able to connect not only with one another, but also with the animals whose lives are changed through Peggy Adams’ work every day.”

It was a sentiment echoed throughout the room.

“There is something incredibly special about ending the season by celebrating the lifesaving work happening every day at Peggy Adams,” said Thomas. “The energy in the room was uplifting, and the impact of the evening will be felt by countless animals in our community.”

By the end of the evening, six animals had found permanent homes, and another went home with a foster family, an immediate and tangible reflection of the night’s impact.
