Ferragamo’s Italian Summer Comes to the Hamptons

For one evening, Topping Rose House became Ferragamo‘s version of an Italian summer, as Daniella Vitale and Gabrielle Union-Wade gathered friends in Bridgehampton to celebrate the house’s return to the Hamptons.

The evening began poolside, where guests drank Italian-inspired cocktails surrounded by a full Ferragamo takeover: signature towels, umbrellas, and pillows stamped with the Gancini motif, reworked here in mascarpone and navy rather than the house’s usual browns.

As the light dropped, dinner was called, and the crowd drifted into the orchard for a three-course meal beneath the trees. Katie Holmes, Christie Brinkley, Sailor Brinkley-Cook, Katie Couric, Don Lemon, Elizabeth Saltzman, Sarah Wetenhall, and PALMER Editorial Director Stefano Tonchi, were among those gathered around the table, lingering over dessert long after the last course had been cleared.

The dinner marked the opening of Ferragamo’s four-day pop-up at Topping Rose House, where visitors could discover creative director Maximilian Davis’s Pre-Fall 2026 collection alongside the house’s latest handbags, footwear, leather goods, eyewear and timepieces. Crafted raffia textures, the Gancini clasp and Vara bow appeared throughout the collection in a palette of warm neutrals, rich browns and soft camel, echoing the landscape just beyond the boutique.

“For one night the Tuscan sun shone on Long Island, bringing the Ferragamo familiar lifestyle to Bridgehampton,” said Tonchi. “Friends reunited and new connections were made as has often been the case in the history of Salvatore Ferragamo, who was the first designer to bring Italian and American style together.”

Indeed, the Hamptons are only the latest chapter in Ferragamo’s long relationship with the United States. Before there was a house in Florence, there was a shop on Hollywood Boulevard. Salvatore Ferragamo arrived in Southern California at sixteen and spent the better part of a decade building shoes for Gloria Swanson and the rest of the silent-era stars, studying anatomy at USC to get the fit right, before anyone called him a shoemaker to the stars. Only in 1927 did he go home to Florence and start the company that carries his name. A century later, the house has traded one coastline for another, but the essence remains the same.
