Entrepreneur John Demsey <\/strong>opened the doors to his Manhattan townhouse with Alina Cho <\/strong>and\u00a0Douglas Friedman <\/strong>to celebrate the publication of their new book, BEHIND THE BLUE DOOR: A Maximalist Mantra<\/strong>\u00a0(Vendome, 2023). Friends\u00a0<\/em>included Palm Beach’s\u00a0Cornelia Guest,<\/strong>\u00a0Beth Rudin DeWoody, Gene Pressman, Jaime Tisch, Celerie Kemble, Darcy Miller, Eric Viner,<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Sue Jin Seth.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Demsey\u2019s daughter \u00a0Marie-Helene<\/b>, a Wellington equestrian attended, as well as the home\u2019s designer Bibi Monnahan<\/strong> and art consultant Heather McKenna-Pardo.<\/strong><\/p>\n The book, photographed by Friedman, chronicles Demsey\u2019s journey as he curated the 6-story townhouse, which is an explosion of color, pattern and art. Included are works from Hugh Findletar<\/strong>\u00a0– recently featured on the front page of\u00a0The New York Times Style Section\u00a0<\/em>for reimagining the faces of \u00a0Naomi Campbell and Anne Hathaway as glass vases; whimsical ceramicist Ruan<\/strong> Hoffmann;<\/strong> and a controversial photograph by Bejing’s\u00a0Ren Hang\u00a0<\/b>which was recently banned in China.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n <\/p>\n
