They came. They bid. They celebrated – all for the love of art.
The Norton Museum Gala Weekend, chaired by Lorna James, Lisa Tananbaum, Silvia Zoullas, George Merck and Sue Wrigley, kicked off Thursday night with ArtBeat, where 400+ friends gathered to see a live performance by street artist Kenny Scharf who spray painted a vintage 1989 Rolls Royce donated by collector/philanthropist Beth Rudin De Woody in the Museum’s Goergen Garden. And on Saturday night, 800 glamorous guests danced the night away at the annual Norton Gala which included a live auction of works by contemporary artists including Harold Ancart, George Condo, Ann Craven, Reggie Burrows Hodges, Kylie Manning, Harland Miller and Anna Weyant, conducted by Sotheby’s Michael Macaulay, followed by an online auction of works by James Prosek, Paola Pivi, Robert Peterson and Rob Wynne.
